In an outdoors’s area by the College in Gjøvik (HIG), Åsdam has produced a tall standing architectural installation based on basic steel fences. Such fences are normally used to regulate the access to certain places and divide it from one another. The fences in Åsdam’s artistic work are transformed into a sculptural figure which rather than shutting out, creates a new, unexpected social room – a place where people can gather and unfold.
